Overview[]

Puss and friends seek out the Sphinx's sister, Callista, for information on the Obelisk of Night. While searching for the Sphinx's sister, Puss falls into the Fountain of 100 Changes and becomes a fractured cat.

Summary[]

Puss in Boots is still trying desperately to find a way to defeat the Bloodwolf by gathering information from a book. Dulcinea notices a familiar symbol on the book (the obelisk) and realizes it resembles a tattoo on The Sphinx. Puss curious about the Obelisk of Night runs to the Sphinx and asks her about it. The Sphinx demanding Puss to give her space forcefully throws him back. Dulcinea tells Puss to look at her shoulder revealing the Obelisk. Puss asks her about the Obelisk tattoo. The Sphinx said that Callista gave it to her when they still got along, this leads them to journey through Fountain Wood in search of the Obelisk. Toby decides to tag along by hiding in a sack after being refused by Puss.

The Sphinx flying over Fountain Wood immediately gets attacked by Callista causing Puss, Toby, Dulcinea and Artephius to fall. Puss falls into the Fountain of 100 changes, Dulcinea lands in the Fountain of Sass Mouth, while Artephuis misses a fountain and directly hits the ground instead and assumes it was the Fountain of Achey back. Puss steps out of the fountain and calls for them. Puss hiccups and begins talking backwards. He hiccups again and his hand becomes sentient and begins slapping him. He hiccups again and run towards a tree unintentionally. An anxious Toby encounters thieves who “tests” him to make them rich. They force him to drink from the fountains to see what effect they each have. Puss begins to walk in slow motion almost hitting the ground. Puss repeats “Release” in hoping it will reverse the effects from the fountain but fails to his dismay.

Artephius approaches Puss and Puss asks if he fell into the Fountain of Hand stands. Artephuis denies this, instead claiming he fell into an unordinary fountain called Fountain of Achey back with no water inside. Puss asks if he really just fell into the ground which Artephuis now realizes. Puss explains that every time he hiccups his spell alters and he cannot control it, and that when he says “Release” the effects won’t wear off. Artephuis assumes he fell into the Fountain of 100 Changes, the only fountain that can’t wear off by saying “release.” Puss disagrees. Puss later transforms into a pigeon, becomes 2D, has clones of himself, squawks like a bird, vomit up coins, becomes a kitten again, becomes intangible and drags himself on the ground.

They then encounter a discourteous Dulcinea. Who then mocks Puss and steps on him. Artephius reveals she fell into the Fountain of Sass Mouth who can corrupt even the sweetest being. Dulcinea snaps her fingers and approaches the thieves. She begins insulting them and Puss defends her. When the thieves are defeated Puss tries convincing Dulcinea to say “Release” so he can get Callista and the Sphinx to quit fighting and talk about the Obelisk. Dulcinea refuses and mocks him is him even more. Toby after helping the thieves is greeted by Puss, Dulcinea and Artephius. Puss uses the spells as his advantage towards the thieves, realising the usefulness. After he convinces Dulcinea and Toby to say “Release” a forceful explosion knocks them out. Dulcinea asks Sphinx and Callista to calm down and work out their unresolved issues successfully. She then asks Callista information about the Obelisk. Callista said she found it in the Realm of Riches. This leads them to their next journey. The episode ends with Puss going through more spells.
