Tranche is an ogre who tries to portray himself as a sophisticated aristocrat,

who makes only two appearances, once in Season 4, episode 7 named "Fancy Beast" and he returns in Season 6, episode 9 named "Flock the Boat". He is voiced by Damian O'Hare.

Personality[]

Tranche seems to act as aristocratic as possible as his attire would suggest, however. He is quick to anger and if angered, Tranche will eat whomever angered him which is also the apparent outcome when someone confuses him. When Tranche’s heart is won over however, he is willing to help his friends.

Physical Appearance[]

Tranche is a very tall and large ogre with green skin. He wears a red aristocratic suit decorated with much gold along with a matching hat.

He lives in an old mansion in an abandoned town.

History[]

Tranche was previously a member of the Sky Pirates. He often swept in to save Captain Two-Eyed Alonso on multiple occasions throughout the years until he decided to settle down as an aristocrat to live a distinguished lifestyle, taking his share of the treasure he had helped his crew amass. He settled in Dead Man's Hollow, purchasing Miguela Andante's mansion when she went bankrupt. He met his wife Ahayham at some point. The ogres' presence turned what was once a bustling town into a deserted town save for himself and his wife.

Appearances[]

Season 4[]

Tranche first appears in Season 4, Episode 7 called, "Fancy Beast". In order to find a book about the Crown of Souls, Puss, Dulcinea, Miguela, and Uli have to play along in Tranche's game to get the book. The Group enters under pretence that Uli is a royal visitor. the ogre apologises for his behaviour, noting that he had become accustomed to visits from common folk (he labels'rif-raf'). Once granted he began to give a tour of his estate but started to grow suspicious of the group who becomes increasingly divided amongst each other until the facade was revealed. The group had come for a book. Miguela offers to remain at her old estate to tutor the illiterate ogre in reading and writing, which he deems as essential for a noblemen of his standing. Tranche thus decides not to eat the visitors but fufill their goals.

Season 6[]

Tranche appears in "Save the Cat", as the new master of Mayor Temeroso who was ensnared in a billion year contract with minimal pay and extensive working hours of servitude. Miguela Andante is seen tutoring him though is notably frustrated with his extreme lack of progress throughout the one year the main protectors of San Lorenzo were gone, only being able to read and recognise the word: cat, hence assuming every word is cat. He makes a deal with Puss in Boots to give him the recipe for honey and his friend if the golden sweetie boy doll was given to him in exchange to complete his aristocratic collection. The exchange was made a few hours later after continuing the wild goose chase.

In "Lost and Foundlings", Puss in Boots leads the reformed thieves into a shabby and deserted Dead Man's Hollow, with causes the thieves to rejoice at all the work opportunities they will have. Puss leaves them to be, warning them off the ravenous ogre before leaving. An angry yell would resound, frightening the thieves in an instant.

Tranche returns in season 6, Episode 9 called "Flock the Boat", where he was sought out by his ex-crewmates in the pursuit of their kidnapped captain. The entire crew would go to San Lorenzo to recruit Puss in Boots before proceeding on their journey to save their captain. The two temporary recruits would experience discord due to their disagreement of superiority. After finding the captain to have been captured by his original parrot Bonky, the two resolve to collaborate in service of a shared goal. After the successful rescue mission, the three parties go their separate ways, never to cross paths again.

In "And, Having Writ, Moves On", Puss makes a sacrifice to restore the broken world. In the process of doing so the world was reset and all of the events that have transpired thus far ceased to exist. The ogre would no longer know the word: cat.
